PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

bic_montagneInspired by the exceptional setting of the Parc national du Bic, which is located in the St. Lawrence Estuary, this unique  program integrates learning the French language with the exploration of nature in a fun and dynamic environment. This three-weeks adventure offers participants irresistible opportunities to improve their language skills through thematic activities that take advantage of the rich and varied ecology of the estuary. Themes such as "Treasure Island", "Enchanted Forest" and "Maritime Voyager" allow campers to embark on French language odysseys that are sure to capture their imagination.

French and English are spoken during these activities and participants are encouraged to develop their communication skills while hiking, rock climbing, sea-canoeing, overnight canoe camping, and storytelling around the campfire and during hands-on cooperative projects. Participants will also have the unique opportunity to build friendships with their francophone/anglophone peers also attending the camp while they share camp facilities and participate in several adventures together.

Every morning, counsellors and campers meet in small  French/English groups and set language targets for the day's activities. During these structured workshops, counsellors ensure that every participant acquires the skills and knowledge needed to make the most of the daily activities. Upon completion of these activities, campers and counsellors meet again to discuss the challenges and successes of the day. Those workshops will amount to 45 hours of structured learning.
